A man was rushed to hospital overnight with serious injuries following an assault on a busy Hobart street.
The 38-year-old was reportedly involved in an altercation on Macquarie Street at around 8:45pm on Saturday night.

Police say he sustained serious injuries to his torso and was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital.
He is currently in a stable condition.
Anyone who witnessed the incident in the vicinity of the Elizabeth Street Bus Mall is asked to contact police or Crimestoppers anonymously.
