A man has been killed after being hit by a falling branch during strong winds in Central Tasmania this morning.
Police say the 70-year-old man was visiting the Tarraleah area from Queensland when the incident occurred.

The man was given medical attention at the scene of the incident on the Lyell Highway shortly after 8am this morning, however he sadly did not survive his injuries.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
