A man has died and a woman has been seriously injured after they were attacked by their dog at their Allens Rivulet home overnight.
Inspector Colin Riley said the 66-year-old suffered serious injuries to his lower legs and was pronounced deceased at the scene shortly after 10:30pm on Sunday.

The woman was transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital with serious injuries to her lower limbs.
“The dog was euthanased at the scene by an animal management officer from the local council,” said Inspector Riley.
“Our thoughts are with the man’s loved ones at this difficult time.”
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
