A man accused of being involved in an alleged home invasion at Coles Bay, where police say the homeowner was bound and his house set alight, has pleaded not guilty.
Hayden James Morrison, 31, appeared by video link from prison in the Launceston Magistrates Court on Monday, where he entered the plea.
The Invermay man denied charges that include aggravated armed robbery, aggravated assault, aggravated burglary and arson.
A further count of motor vehicle stealing was adjourned, at the request of his lawyer.
According to police, the charges relate to two separate incidents at the one Coles Bay address on the state’s east coast, alleged to have taken place on June 25 and July 11.
Investigators allege Morrison was among three men who forced their way into Grant Whelan’s rural home on July 11, restrained him, took his firearms and torched the property.
Whelan was treated in hospital for six days following the alleged attack. The missing firearms are yet to be found.
Two co-accused have also been charged in connection with the case.
Jason Robert Burns, 33, from Invermay, has pleaded not guilty and is expected to appear before the Supreme Court later this month.
Charlie Hills, 30, from Ravenswood, was granted bail in July and has indicated he intends to plead not guilty.
Morrison was remanded in custody and is due back in court in the coming months.
