A man is in hospital in a serious condition after allegedly being struck over the head with a baseball bat on the West Coast.
The 36-year-old Queenstown man was rushed to the emergency room early on Monday morning.

Senior Constable Stephen Barrow described the incident as “isolated” and said it involved people “known to each other”.
One of the alleged offenders is a 20-year-old man and the other a youth under 18.
“Two people have been charged and will appear in the Queenstown Magistrates Court and Youth Justice Division at a later date,” he said.
