Two men are in hospital and two people are in custody after an alleged stabbing in broad daylight in the Hobart CBD today.
Police were called to Elizabeth Street, near Patrick Street, just after 3pm on Sunday, where a group of people who knew each other had started fighting.
A 41-year-old man was allegedly stabbed in the upper body and a 45-year-old man was struck in the head.
Both were taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital. Their injuries are “not believed to be life threatening”, police said.
Two other men were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The brawl unfolded outside The Salvation Army Salvos store, with several people involved.
No charges had been laid.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam vision is asked to contact police on 131 444 and quote OR 808744 or incident number 223-21062026,” police said.
