A man who allegedly stole a vehicle and ‘a significant amount of jewellery’ from several businesses on Hobart’s eastern shore has been charged over the $200,000 crime spree.
The 35-year-old was arrested in April after Police caught him driving the stolen car, with further investigations leading him being charged with several burglaries, as well as driving and firearms offences.
While the car has since been recovered, Police say only ‘some’ stolen property has been found – with a ‘large amount’ of jewellery still unaccounted for.
Detectives would like to hear from anyone with information about the burglaries, or the whereabouts of the stolen property, some of which may have been on sold.
