Firefighters have discovered a mans body next to a vegetation fire during a callout to a blaze in Tasmania’s north.
Tasmania Fire Service crews responded to the fatal incident on Henslowe Street at Tarleton, just out of Latrobe, shortly before 4pm on Monday.

While the formal identification is yet to get underway, police believe the deceased is the 77-year-old resident of a home at the address.
The fire has since been contained and a fire scene examination will be undertaken to determine the cause in the coming hours.
A report will be prepared for the coroner, police said.
“Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends of the deceased.”
