Police are hunting for thieves who allegedly made off with up to 400,000 trading cards and a valuable guitar from a property near Deloraine.
The burglary occurred sometime over a 12-month period, with the occupants only recently discovering the theft from a storage chest.
The private collection includes numerous rare and high-value cards with “potentially significant monetary value”, police said.
Magic: The Gathering is a popular fantasy card game with some rare cards selling for thousands of dollars at auction.
A Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster electric guitar in a brown case was also stolen during the break-in.
Police are appealing for anyone with information about the stolen items or suspicious activity in the Deloraine area to come forward.
