With an asking price of somewhere over $1.6 million, the unique offering includes the model village itself and a retail shop, a visitor centre, over an acre of land and a house.

Old Hobart Town is a meticulously detailed miniature replica of the city during Australia’s early history and the era of convicts that draws in thousands of tourists each year.

The display boasts a 4-star rating on Tripadvisor and is listed as the fifth best thing to see and do in Richmond.

Designed from historical plans, the owners say it ‘accurately represents Hobart’s early days’, contrasting with the modern city while maintaining recognisable features.

According to their website, creators John and Andrew Quick have invested “thousands of hours” in crafting the historical representation.

They say each of the buildings and figurines was carefully planned and researched, depicting scenes ranging from convict work parties to typical pub brawls of the era.
