A pair of walkers who ‘became disoriented’ after embarking on what was meant to be a day walk near Deloraine in Tasmania’s north have been found today.
The husband and wife set off on Syd’s Track on Thursday and spent two nights in the wilderness before the alarm was raised.

Police say the couple were located by another group of walkers on Higg’s Track, some 4km away in good spirits and did not need any medical attention.
“Tasmania Police would like to take this opportunity to remind all walkers in remote Tasmanian areas to ensure they are prepared for all weather conditions, to register their intentions with friends and family and carry a personal locating beacon (PLB) where mobile phone coverage is non-existent,” a Police spokesperson said.
