A 21-year-old Jackeys Marsh man will face court on multiple traffic charges after allegedly evading police on three separate occasions.
The incidents occurred between September 15 and September 22 and involved running red lights and riding an unregistered red CRF 450cc dirt bike “dangerously through traffic”.
The man’s most daring act was riding the unregistered motorbike at high speed through Launceston’s Brisbane Street Mall, both on September 15 and September 21.
After being arrested by patrolling officers on September 22, the man’s bike was confiscated and he was charged with 3 counts of reckless driving, 3 counts of evading police, 4 counts of use unregistered motor vehicle, 4 counts of drive whilst not the holder of a driver licence and using a motor vehicle with no premium cover.
He was bailed to appear at the Launceston Magistrates Court at a later date.
