A crash between multiple cars and a bus is currently blocking the southbound lane of Hobart’s Southern Outlet this evening.
Traffic is backed up to Davey Street and as far away as the Tasman Bridge, with peak hour motorists asked to avoid the area and to expect delays.
Police say injuries are not known at this stage.
Alternative routes south are available via Proctors Road to Mount Nelson, Taroona via Sandy Bay and Kingston via Fern Tree (gravel).

UPDATE 6:45PM: The earlier crash between 8 vehicles and a bus on Hobart’s Southern Outlet has now been cleared.
No serious injuries were reported, however one person was transported to hospital for observations.
Police say traffic congestion in the CBD is slowly reducing and ask motorists who may have dash cam footage of the crash to contact them.
