A 16-year-old Tasmanian teenager has been charged with multiple offences after allegedly assaulting a young man and a good samaritan who tried to intervene.
The teenager was apart of a group of six youths who reportedly assaulted the young man in a carpark on Launceston’s Hobart Road last week.
Police say a witness who tried to intervene was then allegedly assaulted by three of the youths.
The same witness was then assaulted again when he tried to intervene after the same youths attacked another man in a separate incident.
The witness was treated at the scene and transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police believe the initial assault was targeted and involved individuals familiar with each other.
The 16-year-old has been arrested and charged with several offenses, including theft, property damage, assault, computer-related fraud and burglary.
Police are seeking the first and third victims and are interested in hearing from any witnesses to the incidents.
