A new $40m retail precinct is in the works for Kingston, with a 3.7-hectare site on the Channel Highway recently bought by a Sydney-based developer.
Purchased by Tipalea Partners for $5m, the developers have plans to transform the current, empty lot into Huntingfield Village, a state-of-the-art retail centre catering to the growing Kingborough region.
According to the Australian Property Journal, Huntingfield Village is tipped to feature a new supermarket, 15 retail facilities including medical and dental services, a café, bakery, takeaway options, a carpark, sustainability elements and aims to create over 1,200 jobs.
Construction is expected to start in early 2024 for a 2025 completion date.

Tipalea late last year completed the Glebe Hill Village development in Howrah and are currently working on Stony Rise Village in Devonport.
Designs for the precinct are yet to be unveiled.
