A second BWS bottle shop could open in central Glenorchy, around 200 metres from an existing store of the same brand.
A development application has been lodged with the Glenorchy City Council to convert a former cafe at Glenorchy Plaza into a bottle shop.
The site at 350-360 Main Road would add to several liquor outlets already trading in the immediate Glenorchy CBD area.
The closest, Cellarbrations at Glenorchy Shopping Centre, sits across the carpark on Cooper Street.
Plans lodged with the council show partial demolition, internal alterations, new signage and a new loading bay off Cooper Street.

The 180 square metre tenancy was last used as a cafe.
The bottle shop would occupy the same footprint, with a new automatic sliding entry door and glazed window fixture facing Cooper Street.
A traffic impact assessment prepared by Midson Traffic concluded the development was acceptable on traffic and parking grounds.
The assessment estimates the change of use would generate an extra 122 vehicle trips a day compared with the previous cafe.
The application is on public exhibition until May 26 with the council.
