Hobart Airport’s forecourt area is now free from some construction chaos after undergoing a makeover.
The new semi-permanent space in front of the terminal includes seating areas and a ‘Crate Café’ for travellers.
The setup is set to remain in place until the terminal undergoes its scheduled redevelopment in the coming years, which includes expansion of the terminal and upgrades to the runway.
With a target of completion by 2026, the new terminal will accommodate the projected substantial rise in traveler numbers each year from 2.8 million in 2020 to 5.5 million by 2042.
Tasmanian products, including local aggregate, sandstone pavers and plantings, were used in the forecourt’s construction.
