Tasmanian Government grants are now available to help restore and revitalise heritage properties across the state.
A total of $1.3 million will is on offer in the second round of the Built Heritage Grants Scheme, with applications opening yesterday.
Arts Minister Madeleine Ogilvie said the funding will support owners and custodians of heritage-listed places to undertake restoration and activation activities.
“This funding is in addition to the $1.1 million already distributed to 31 recipients across the state during the first round of the grants,” she said.
Small grants of between $5,000 and $20,000 are available for owners to preserve, repair or restore their properties where the heritage significance might be at risk.
Larger grants of between $20,000 and $200,000 are available to support heritage owners, skills development organisations and community groups.
“The first round of grants proved popular among Tasmanian heritage property owners and the second round of grants is expected to be no exception,” Ogilvie said.
