More social and affordable housing is coming to Tasmania for people in need, with the construction of 10 new homes complete in New Norfolk.
10 two-bedroom units have been completed in the third stage of a significant development at New Norfolk for priority applicants on the Housing Register, adding to the existing 29 homes on the site.
Homes Tasmania provided funding for the New Norfolk development of $135,000 per unit for 25 of the units and $145,000 per unit for 14 of the units – a total funding commitment of over $5.4 million.

The funding was delivered through three grant funding rounds under the Community Housing Growth Program, which will deliver 1,000 new social housing units around the State by the end of 2023.
The units were built to the Silver Level of the Liveable Housing Design Guidelines by CEH’s building and construction social enterprise St Joseph Affordable Homes.
