New Norfolk will lose its only local butcher storefront in two weeks from today after six decades of feeding the Derwent Valley town.
RE Clark & Son will shut its doors for the final time on October 11, ending six decades of service to the Derwent Valley community.
The family business took to Facebook to share the news, saying it marks the “end of an era”.
“We would like to thank everyone for their continued support over the last 60 years,” they wrote.
“We will miss all of our customers and suppliers and hope to see you around our beautiful town of New Norfolk.”
They pleaded for “everyone to please support local businesses”.
“It is crucial for them to be able to keep their doors open during these difficult times,” they said.
Derwent Valley Mayor Michelle Dracoulis said the “beautiful little store will be greatly missed”.
“I’m very sad to learn that beloved local butcher RE Clark and Son have made the difficult decision to close the family business,” she said.
“I thank them for their long, high quality service to our community.”
