A newly wrapped Metro Tasmania bus has hit Hobart streets carrying a vital message about mental health awareness.
The eye-catching full bus wrap has been donated to SPEAK UP! Stay ChatTY as part of a collaboration between Metro Tasmania and GoTransit Media Group.
Set to travel around 100km a day for a year, the distinctively branded bus features the charity’s iconic messaging and original car sticker design.
SPEAK UP! Stay ChatTY founder Mitch McPherson hopes the bus will break down stigma and encourage conversations about mental health.

“This bus isn’t just about visibility – it’s about reminding Tasmanians, every day, that mental health matters,” he said.
“When it’s driving through the CBD, it’s carrying an important message: it’s okay to speak up and support is always close by.”

The initiative will also help promote the charity’s winter fundraiser, Shorts Day, which encourages Tasmanians to wear shorts on the shortest day of the year in June as a way to “brave the cold and brave the conversation” around mental health.
Metro Tasmania CEO Katie Cooper said the organisation is proud to support Stay ChatTY’s work.
“As a public transport provider, we’re uniquely placed to help carry important messages across our communities and we’re proud to support SPEAK UP! Stay ChatTY in raising awareness, breaking down stigma, and reminding Tasmanians that they are not alone.”
