A small Hobart suburb has been rocked by a devastating inferno overnight – with a house going up in flames just after the clock struck midnight to signal in 2023.
Neighbours of the Mary’s Hope Road property in Rosetta watched in horror as the fire raged on, engulfing the home in a sea of orange and red.

Fire authorities say more than half a million dollars of damage was caused in the incident, and police are now investigating.
