A man who died in a serious crash in Ravenswood was not wearing a seatbelt, Police have confirmed.
The 36-year-old was ejected from the car after it collided with a power pole on Faraday Street at around 3:30am on Monday morning.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 36-year-old woman who was driving the vehicle at the time, believed to be the man’s former partner, managed to exit the vehicle following the crash.
She was conscious when emergency services arrived and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries for blood analysis.
Police suspect excessive speed and the lack of a seatbelt were contributing factors to the mans death.
Inspector Craig Fox said the woman may be looking at “some serious charges” if alcohol or drugs were involved.
