Four vehicles have been taken off the road after a string of alleged hooning incidents in North Hobart on Friday afternoon.
Two vehicles were seized and two were clamped for 28 days as police cracked down on the dangerous driving over the weekend.
Acting Inspector Nick Bowden from Southern Road Policing Services said a teal Holden Kingswood and a black Ford Falcon were clamped, while a yellow Holden Monaro and a Mercedes Benz were seized.
Three men will also face court over driving offences, including hooning.
“In addition to having their vehicles clamped or seized, three men will appear in court for driving offences, including hooning,” he said.
Police intend to apply for the Mercedes Benz to be permanently forfeited due to alleged previous offending by its owner.
“This behaviour was dangerous, irresponsible and unacceptable and it will not be tolerated,” Bowden said.
“Not only did those involved put themselves at risk, they also put other road users and members of the public in danger.”
Anyone who witnesses dangerous driving is urged to call police on 131 444 or Triple Zero (000) in an emergency.
Dash cam footage, photos or videos of dangerous driving can be uploaded directly to police through the Tasmania Police website.
