North Hobart Oval set for another big crowd at Devils double-header

The Tasmania Devils will host their first ever VFL and VFLW double-header this Saturday

A bumper crowd is expected to pack North Hobart Oval on Saturday as the Tasmania Devils make history with their first ever double-header featuring the men’s and women’s VFL teams.

The club says ticket sales are tracking well ahead of the double-header, which features the Devils’ VFL Round 8 clash with the Southport Sharks at 11:05am and the club’s inaugural VFLW match against the Casey Demons at 2:35pm.

“The club is really excited to see our inaugural VFLW side run out on Saturday afternoon,” a club spokesperson told Pulse.

“Ticket sales are tracking well, with another bumper North Hobart Oval crowd expected to see our women play for the first time at 2:35pm and VFL at 11:05am.”

“We urge fans to buy their tickets early via our website, with limited tickets available for purchase on the gate.”

Gates open at 10am and all seating is general admission, so fans wanting a spot in an undercover stand are being encouraged to arrive early.

The club is urging ticket holders to download their tickets before getting to the ground because internet at the venue will be limited.

Both games will be shown live on Channel 7 and Kayo, with VFL coverage from 11am.

The Devils will name their teams at 12:20pm on Friday through the club’s website.

The club’s membership team will be near the main entrance on Argyle Street for anyone wanting to sign up, while the Devils Den merchandise shop will be open inside the main entrance at the corner of Argyle and Ryde streets.

With limited street parking around the oval, the club is strongly encouraging fans to walk, ride or use public transport.
