A person has been taken into custody following an incident near a Devonport shopping complex this morning.
Emergency services were called to the Kmart and Coles complex at the corner of Best Street and Gunn Street about 11am on Monday.
Police say a man in his 20s sustained an arm injury during an altercation with a group of youths.
He was taken to the Mersey Community Hospital for treatment after what police described as an “isolated incident”.
Officers maintained a heightened presence in the area while investigating the circumstances surrounding the altercation.
Police initially said no arrests had been made and that officers were “following a specific line of enquiry to locate those allegedly involved”.
However, police have since confirmed one person has been taken into custody in relation to the incident.
According to police, the altercation involved three people who are known to each other.
Investigations are ongoing.
