One person seriously injured in Bass Highway crash near Carrick

A serious two-vehicle crash has shut the Bass Highway at Carrick in both directions, with one person believed to be seriously injured.

The crash happened near Heazlewoods Lane on Monday morning.

The highway is closed both ways. Tasmania Police said traffic is being diverted at Oaks Road and Meander Valley Road.

“One person is believed to be in a serious condition,” police said.

“Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible and to take due care if travelling nearby.”
