A Midlands man has been busted over the improper storage of his firearms and for failing to comply with the conditions of his firearms licence.
During an ‘Operation Saturate’ search of a property in Levendale, which was initiated based on a tip from members of the public, the 49-year-old was found to be committing “several firearm storage offences”.
Police say the taskforce also discovered and seized “a substantial quantity of cash” at the rural property, with investigations ongoing to determine the source of the money.
The man is now facing multiple firearm-related charges, including violations of firearm storage requirements, ammunition storage guidelines and firearm licence conditions.
Registered gun owners are urged to store their firearms in compliance with legal requirements, while people with information on illegal or improperly stored firearms are encouraged to contact Police or Crime Stoppers.
