A Tasmanian member of an outlaw motorcycle gang has been arrested and charged after firearms, drugs, stolen vehicles and cash were found at a property in the Derwent Valley last week.
The 56-year-old man is now facing close to 23 charges as the result of a coordinated national week of action as part of Taskforce Morpheus.
“With a particular focus on drugs, firearms, weapons and explosives, jurisdictions around Australia proactively targeted their own highest priority OMCG issues, with concentrated disruption, enforcement and compliance activities undertaken,” a Tasmania Police spokesperson said.
The targeted operation involved the Australian Federal Police, multiple police specialist areas and saw a “traffickable quantity of drugs, two stolen motor vehicles, two illegal replica firearms, cash and a significant amount of stolen property” located at the property north of Hobart.
The man will appear in court at a later date.
