More than 2,200 properties from Dunalley and Eaglehawk Neck down to Port Arthur and White Beach are affected by the outage that began around 5pm on Sunday.

In Launceston, around 1,500 properties in the city’s southern and western suburbs are also experiencing outages.

TasNetworks reported a possible pole fire near the Silverdome at Prospect as the likely cause of the Launceston outage.
