Tasmania Police have seized multiple vehicles and charged young drivers for hooning offences following recent incidents in the south of the state.
On Saturday, an 18-year-old P-plater was caught hooning on Surf Road at Seven Mile Beach.
The teenager’s car has been clamped for a month and he will appear in court on driving-related charges.
The following day, police received multiple reports of hooning motorcycles in the Bridgewater area.
A police drone was deployed, leading to the confiscation of two motorcycles.
The riders are now facing several driving charges.
“We’re cracking down on hooning and dangerous driving behaviour with an increase in high visibility patrols and the use of specialist technology such as drones this holiday period,” police said.
“Investigations into other offences are ongoing and police are seeking information from the public.”
