Pair charged after toy gun allegedly used in Rosny bottle shop robbery

A man and a woman have been charged with armed robbery after an alleged hold-up at a southern Tasmanian bottle shop using a toy gun.

Police charged the 34-year-old man and 26-year-old woman, both from Clarendon Vale, following an incident in Rosny on Wednesday night.

They allege the man walked into a bottle shop near Eastlands around 8:40pm wearing a balaclava and carrying a toy gun.

The man allegedly stole a quantity of alcohol before leaving.

Police say he fled in a vehicle believed to have been driven by the woman.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

Officers arrested the pair at a Gagebrook home on Thursday morning.

Police said the arrests were made “without incident”.

Both are due to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on September 21.
