A man and a woman have been charged over an alleged night-long crime spree at Ouse, in Tasmania’s Central Highlands.
Police allege the pair broke into a store, stole cash, tried to steal an ATV and injured a resident during a series of incidents early on Monday.
Officers were called shortly before 1am after reports two people had tried to get into a business.
Police allege they then broke into a nearby store and stole cash.
A short time later, officers found a vehicle believed to be linked to the incidents crashed into an embankment on the Lyell Highway.
Around 3:15am, an Ouse resident reported two people had entered his property and tried to steal an ATV.
The resident suffered minor facial injuries but did not need medical treatment, police said.
Police arrested a 21-year-old woman from Franklin and a 26-year-old man from Kingston just before 4am after finding them walking along Ellendale Road.
The woman has since been charged with attempted aggravated armed robbery, wounding, burglary, stealing, attempted burglary and trespass.
She is also facing charges of resisting police, along with drug and firearms offences.
The man faces similar charges, as well as driving and bail-related offences.
Both are expected to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court today.
