Great Britain won the gold medal in 6:59.43, while the United States took silver in 7:00.78.

Giuliani’s medal comes after he finished seventh in the men’s 200m freestyle on Tuesday.

After that race, Giuliani gave a ‘special message’ to Tasmania.

“Thank you everyone for the support, it’s absolutely unbelievable,” he told Nine.

“And if you believe in yourself and work your ass off you can do anything.”

The Olympian also posted a picture with his medal to social media, saying it was “For Tassie”.
