Motorists in Hobart’s CBD are being urged to check their parking times as a ‘glitch’ with on-street parking machines is causing transaction failures.
The City of Hobart says the issue is affecting parking machines “Australia-wide” and are awaiting a fix from the vendor.
“We urge people to park only for the allotted times assigned to each park,” a spokesperson said on social media.
“Parking spaces will still be monitored manually and infringement notices will be issued for overstays.”
The EasyPark app remains fully operational.
“We appreciate your patience and apologise for any inconvenience caused,” the council said.
Updated 5pm, Monday July 29: The Hobart City Council says the issue has now been resolved and parking machine are fully operational again.
