Traffic is backing up to the Tasman Bridge after a pedestrian was reportedly hit by a car on Hobart’s busy East Derwent Highway this afternoon.
The crash has closed both northbound lanes of the road near Lindisfarne Primary School, with traffic being diverted down Ballawinnie Road.

Police have confirmed the crash involves both a car and a pedestrian and say no serious injuries have been reported at this stage.
They are asking motorists to avoid the area and say traffic diversions are in place from Ronnie Street, along the Esplanade and back out onto the East Derwent Highway at Nietta Road.
