A pedestrian who was hit by a car on the South Arm Highway has been transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital with serious injuries this morning.
Police say the crash, which happened at around 6am near Oceana Drive, saw a man in his 40’s hit by a white Mitsubishi ASX.
He remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
A police investigation is being conducted to determine the cause of the crash.
EARLIER: Police are emergency services are currently responding to a serious crash on South Arm Highway, near Oceana Drive this morning.
The accident involved a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle around 7AM, according to Tasmania Police.
Further details about the crash are still to be released, but motorists are asked to avoid the area until the scene is cleared.
Both lanes of the highway heading towards Hobart remain open, while southbound traffic is restricted to a single lane.
