Youngtown resident Peggy Greig celebrated her 106th birthday surrounded by family and friends at Glenara Lakes in Launceston.
A crowd gathered for the milestone celebration, with party food, balloons and a large birthday cake helping mark the occasion.
The Tasmania Devils also joined the celebrations, presenting Greig with a club membership.
“Celebrating a true icon,” the club said on social media, describing Greig as “a cherished member of our family.”

Born on August 1, 1920, Greig moved to Tasmania at a young age and grew up on a farm with her three brothers.
She attended Broadland House School, now part of Launceston Grammar’s junior campus.

Later in life, Greig became a keen golfer, serving on the Riverside Golf Club board and achieving a hole-in-one during her time on the course.
