A person has died in a vehicle fire on a rural road south of Burnie, in Tasmania’s north-west, this afternoon.
Police and emergency services were called to the fire on West Ridgley Road around 1pm on Monday.

“Sadly, a person was located deceased inside the vehicle,” a police spokesperson confirmed.
“At this stage, there are no suspicious circumstances.”
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
