A person has been taken to the Launceston General Hospital in a serious condition after a crash on the East Tamar Highway in Tasmania’s north today.
Emergency services were called to the crash on the highway at Rocherlea, just north of the George Town road link, around 3:00pm on Tuesday.
Police say the incident involved a black sedan that had two occupants inside.
The driver, a man in his 20s, sustained serious injuries after his vehicle struck the Armco railing, while his passenger, also in his 20s, sustained only minor injuries.

Both occupants were rushed to the Launceston General Hospital for medical attention.
Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident, saying initial reports suggest that speed and road conditions may have been potential contributing factors.
