A pet dog has been left ‘badly burned’ following a house fire in Kingston yesterday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the blaze at a public housing home off Wattle Street around 2:30pm on Thursday.
The Tasmania Fire Service pulled two dogs alive from the burning building, but one, a puppy named Zelda, suffered burns to ’40-50% of her body’.
The tenants nephew Aiden Penwright has since setup a GoFundMe in a bid to fund vet treatment for the injured dog, which they are “unable to pay for”.

“Unfortunately my uncle is in hospital himself so we took the dog the vet,” Penwright wrote.
“They said they might have to put her down due to her breathing issues … We are really hoping we could get some help with her vet bills.”
Authorities tell Pulse the home has been ‘completely destroyed’, with a full investigation into the cause underway.
