Residents had raised concerns after people – including youths – were seen performing burnouts on grass in bush reserve behind Pioneer Parade.

Tasmania Police said the vehicle had no exhaust, causing significant noise near homes.

Police also received reports of people hanging out of the windows while the car was moving.

“Police described the driving behaviour as reckless and dangerous, with enquiries continuing to identify those responsible,” the spokesperson said.

“The vehicle will likely be crushed or otherwise disposed of.”
