The Tasmanian Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team (JACET), made up of officers from the High-Risk Child Exploitation Unit and the Australian Federal Police, executed the search warrant in the Derwent Valley town.

During the raid, officers seized multiple digital devices as part of an investigation that began 13 months ago, after authorities picked up on suspicious downloading activity.

It is alleged the man had been downloading and sharing child exploitation material over a sustained period, starting in May 2023.

The man has been granted bail under strict conditions and is expected to face court at a later date.
