A dangerous driving incident in Hobart’s northern suburbs that spanned the course of five-hours has led to a man’s arrest, police have confirmed.
The incident was first reported at around 3pm on Sunday when the man was spotted driving dangerously and at high speeds near the Bridgewater Bridge.
It is understood Police then initiated a pursuit of the vehicle, a silver Audi sedan with registration J51WX, before the driver allegedly evaded officers who then lost sight of him.
Following an extensive search, the 32-year-old Gagebrook man, described as wearing blue jeans, a dark-coloured jacket, a cap and white shoes, was arrested at around 8pm.
He is currently being held in custody and will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court tomorrow.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
