A 15-year-old has become the second person to be charged with murder over the death of a 19-year-old who was allegedly stabbed in the head in Glenorchy last month.
Police said the teenager was arrested last night and has been detained to appear in the Youth Justice Court today.
The charges relate to an incident on Dickson Street on 11 March, when emergency services found the 19-year-old unconscious outside a property just after 11:30pm.
He was rushed to the Royal Hobart Hospital in a critical condition and spent 11 days in care before dying from his injuries on 22 March.
Police later confirmed the victim had suffered a stab wound to the head.
The arrest comes after a 23-year-old Glenorchy man was last week taken into custody over the same incident.
Detective Acting Inspector Nicholas Bowden last week said police were seeking additional witnesses.
“Detectives are still particularly interested in anyone with information about a small four door sedan, possibly silver in colour, in the area of Dickson Street at the time,” Bowden said.
“Any relevant CCTV or dashcam footage should also be provided to investigators.”
