Updated 5pm: An 83-year-old man has died following a crash in Lindisfarne this afternoon that police believe was caused by a medical episode.
Emergency services were called to Avoca Street about 2:20pm after reports of a crash.
Police say the man had just got into the driver’s seat of his Holden Captiva when the vehicle rolled down a driveway.
The car crossed the road and crashed into a fence.
The man died at the scene. A woman who was not in the vehicle suffered injuries believed to be non-life threatening.

The incident has prompted an investigation, with police working to determine the exact sequence of events.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
Earlier: A serious crash has left two people injured and forced police to close a residential street on Hobart’s eastern shore.
Emergency services were called to Avoca Street in Lindisfarne about 2pm on Tuesday after reports of the single-vehicle crash.
One person suffered serious injuries and was being treated at the scene.
A second person also sustained injuries in the incident.
Police have cordoned off the street and are asking motorists to avoid the area while they investigate.
The cause of the crash is unclear at this stage.
