Three teenagers have been given a stern talking to by police after two of them were found locked in the boot of a car in Hobart.
Officers were called to Criterion Street around 11:45am today after a member of the public raised concerns about someone’s welfare.
When police arrived, they could hear noises coming from the boot of a car parked in the Pulse Tasmania office’s alleyway carpark.
The vehicle’s driver, a red P-plater, was called over to unlock the car, before two teenage boys climbed out of the cramped boot.
In a statement to Pulse, a Tasmania Police spokesperson said officers “provided advice to the teenagers that their behaviour wasn’t safe and had caused concerns for their welfare.”
“Police arrived and spoke to three teenage friends who had been joking around, taking turns locking each other in the boot of their car,” the spokesperson said.
The teens were given a stern talking to before being sent on their way.
