Police hunt for silver vehicle after shots fired into Hobart home

Police are investigating a “targeted” shooting in Hobart’s northern suburbs overnight that caused damage to a house.

The incident occurred around 9:30pm on Friday when shots were fired into a home on Derwent Park Road in Lutana, damaging a window.

Police said several people were inside the property at the time of the shooting, though no injuries were reported.

Authorities established a crime scene at the location to conduct forensic examinations as part of their investigation.

Witnesses reported seeing a silver hatchback fleeing the area through nearby Goodwood immediately after the incident.

Police believe the shooting was specifically targeted and have moved to reassure local residents that there is “no suggestion of risk” to community safety.

Police are calling for public assistance from anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
