Police have released an image of a man they want to identify over an alleged road rage assault in a Launceston hardware store car park last week.
A young man was injured when he was allegedly assaulted while sitting in his car at the western end of the Bunnings car park in Kings Meadows around 4:20pm last Thursday.
The man, who was driving a white Mazda 3, told police he had been followed through traffic from Wellington Street by the driver of a white dual cab ute.
He said the other driver then confronted him in the car park.
Investigators believe the man pictured in their latest appeal can help with their inquiries.
In an earlier appeal on Friday, police described the man they were seeking as being in his late 20s to early 30s and around 178 centimetres tall, with short brown or red hair and a short beard.
He was wearing sunglasses, a black T-shirt, cargo pants and steel-capped boots at the time.
Police also released an image of the ute, taken from CCTV footage.
Earlier this month, Tasmania introduced a specific road rage offence, which carries a maximum penalty of a $10,650 fine or six months in jail.
