Almost two months on from a fire that destroyed two toilets at a public toilet block in Tasmania’s north-east, police have released CCTV images in the hope of finding the person responsible.
Tasmania Police said someone entered the female toilets at the Scottsdale Recreation Ground sometime between 5pm on August 3 and 10am the following day.
Once inside, they allegedly stuffed large toilet rolls into two porcelain toilet bowls and set them on fire.
The fires destroyed both toilets, while smoke and heat damaged the cubicle walls and ceiling, police said. They put the cost of the damage at $1,600.
Police are appealing for anyone who recognises the person in the CCTV images or their clothing to come forward.
